This page presents the official trailer and two VFX breakdowns from Vajont, directed by Renzo Martinelli, a powerful dramatization of the 1963 Vajont Dam disaster.

I worked as VFX Line Producer and Supervisor for Interactive Milano, overseeing the entire visual effects production.

Key technical elements included:

Digital reconstruction of the Vajont dam and valley;

Photorealistic simulation of the landslide and wave impact;

Integration of miniatures, CGI, and live-action footage;

Use of advanced motion control rigs to manage scale differences between water elements and dam structures;

High-speed filming (up to 1500 fps) to realistically capture water dynamics in miniature scale.

These techniques allowed us to deliver emotionally powerful and technically accurate visual sequences, preserving the memory of one of Italy’s greatest tragedies through precision and respect.
